Business Acumen Boot Camp is not for Sissies

Business Acumen Boot CampSpring is in the air, buds are starting to bloom, the economy is starting to turn, and the sap is rising in the veins of entrepreneur’s everywhere (forgive the poetic license – it has been a hard winter). But although our entrepreneur’s sap is rising (when we say sap, think: motivation, frustration, ambition), their business acumen skills may not be up to the job? Here is where Business Acumen Boot Camp training can payoff.

Many organizations say they want to empower their employees. If this is true, let them become entrepreneurs (or if they are really trendy “intrapreneurs”). Companies often tell employees to take risks and to make decisions that move the organization forward, but sometimes forget that employees may not have the skills or the confidence to do this without help.

This is where the Business Acumen Boot Camp comes in. The Business Acumen Boot Camp can be designed as a combination of classroom training, on-the-job experiences, and online leaning.

Here is an outline of some topics that may be useful to include in your Business Acumen Boot Camp curriculum:

  • Understanding market and customer dynamics
  • Analyzing organization capability
  • Creating value—becoming financially savvy
  • Solving problems creatively
  • Using good judgment—balancing risks and rewards
  • Getting things changed and implemented

Don’t let that entrepreneurial sap go to waste! Soon it will be Fall and you may have missed your chance; but remember, Business Acumen Boot Camp is not for Sissies!
