Boot Camp Training for Conflict Resolution Skills

 

Employee TrainingA few hours of conflict resolution training can help work groups and teams to better manage conflict levels in the workplace. Providing employees with a common conflict resolution language and process can pay dividends in maintaining productivity and morale. Eight key skills of conflict resolution are:

  1. Recognize when conflict is holding you back from achieving your goals
  2. Learn to look in the mirror to recognize your own role in the conflict
  3. Identify your own conflict style under stress
  4. Create mutual purpose
  5. Speak persuasively
  6. Listen actively
  7. Prepare and implement an action plan

Using a short assessment, employees can identify their natural conflict handling style and learn to use other styles:

  • The Shark—aggressive and ego driven style
  • The Turtle—avoid conflict when ever possible style
  • The Teddy Bear—overly accommodating to other people’s point of view style
  • The Fox—willing to compromise style
  • The Owl—willing to collaborate style
